Oil and water saturation correction for sealed coring wells based on physical simulation experiments

  • Fluid saturation analysis of core samples for sealed coring wells is one of important methods which are used to evaluate water out behavior in the reservoir, but the measured luid saturation values in the laboratory usually deviate from the real luid saturation values in the reservoir. The factors inluencing the measured results of oil and water saturation were reviewed. Taking two sealed coring inspection wells as examples, the process of depressurizing and degassing was simulated and the effect of depressurizing and degassing on water saturation was mainly studied. Considering comprehensively the water saturation loss because of degassing, compaction and test method, the measured water saturation value was corrected so that it is more close to the real water saturation in the reservoir. The oil and water saturation data after correction can be applied to accurately evaluate water looding condition of reservoir and to effectively improve oilield development.
