Laboratory research of high temperature fracturing fluid in west Sichuan

Abstract
Poor temperature resistance of west Sichuan fracturing fluid at present can’t meet the need of deep reservoir reconstruction. Starting from analyzing factors affecting temperature resistance of fracturing fluid, organic borate-zirconate compound cross-linker WD-51D was synthesized with high temperature resistance and adjustable cross-linking time. In addition, this paper developed a high temperature (140 ℃) fracturing fluid system by the introduction of temperature stabilizer YA-10. Experiments indicate that this fracturing fluid possesses the advantage of powerful temperature/shear (T/S) resistance (viscosity maintains above 100 mPa?s at 140 ℃ and 170 s-1 continuous shearing for 120 min), good filtrate reduction property (filtration coefficient of 7.49×10-4 m/min0.5), low formation damage ( 27.99%) and so on. This fracturing fluid can meet the requirement of deep reservoir reconstruction in west Sichuan, and has successfully applied in DaYi 2 well.
