Application of latex cement slurry system to well cementing with liner of Jianmen-1 well

  • Jianmen-1 well is an important exploration well of Sichuan Petroleum Administration Bureau. The downhole pressurereaches as high as 120 MPa, the accidents of gas cutting and lost circulation have occurred for many times. Therefore, the fourth spuddingis stopped as it reaches to the depth of 5004 m, cementing with Ø177.8 mm liners. The latex cement slurry system is selected tosolve the problem in liner cementing in deep high-pressure wells. The system has good properties in fluid-loss control, leak resistance,and channeling control. By using the system, the properties of cement rock and the rheological behavior of cement paste may be enhanced,the cement slurry may get more stable, and the thickening time may be adjusted easily. The positive injection-reverse squeezingtechnology and the intermittent low pressure cement squeezing technology are used in well cementing, to lower leakage caused by thehigher primary hydrostatic pressure, and to form cement squeezing pressure easily. Four severe circulation loss zones ranging from 4584m to 4930 m are isolated successfully by using the slurry system selected and the cementing process fit for Jinmen-1 well. Good resultsare obtained. The successful cementing with Ø177.8 mm liner hanging in the well may provide good reference for cementing in similarcomplicated wells.
