Determination of reasonable work system for oil wells in carbonate reservoir of Tahe Oilfield

  • Unreasonable work system will restrict the development of oil well productivity. By using empirical and analogy approach, this paper analyzed work system of water-free oil wells, water cut wells and high production wells in typical fracture-cavity unit of Tahe Oilfield. A method to control reasonable work system of oil wells in carbonate reservoir was presented. For water-free production wells, coning should be controlled as possible to prolong production time without water. For water-cut production wells, liquid output should be controlled or sustained, while in the late high water content period when water-oil ratio tends to be stable, producing pressure drop can be increased to enhance the liquid output. For high production wells, production rate of individual well can be raised properly. The results provide theory basis for production stabilization and water-cut control in carbonate reservoir, and as well as the effective instruction for performance analysis and management of oil wells.
