Abstract
The colorimetry of amylum-cadmium iodide and the turbidimetry are commonly used to determine the concentration of polymer in the injected and produced fluid. In view of the shortcomings of the methods, the derivative spectrographic technique is used, as well as the lab research is conducted on the application of the derivative ultraviolet spectrometry to the measurement of polymer flooding agent concentration. A discussion on the accuracy, the rate of recovery, and the main influencing factors of the technique is made. The technical indexes are determined. It is proved that the technique can be used to the concentration measurement of the hydrophobic associating polymer AP-P4 and the super-high molecular weight partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide MO4000. It is a new technique for the concentration measurement of polymers in oilfields.
