Discussion on multi-component horizontal gas well flow performance

  • The pipeline gas flow theory has been developed for many years, as well as the vertical gas well performance analysis and the computational models are well developed. However, there is less case study of the horizontal gas well performance.A new model for horizontal gas well flow performance is established. A model fit for calculating the variables of multi-component gas properties in DF gas field is also established. A program is developed to calculate the multi-component horizontal gas well flow performance. It is easy to handle and can be used to deal with a batch of data. Through the correlation analysis of the actual static pressure, the flow pressure, the hydrostatic gradient, and the flowing pressure gradient, it is shown that the calculating result based on the program is definitely matching, and the relative error is less than 2%. It provides a new method for carrying out the gas well system analysis, optimizing gas recovery processes, and discovering the field potentials in the gas field.
