Properties of produced sludge in Xingbei Oilfield and plugging effect assessment

Abstract
In view of the actual demand of high capacity channel plugging and innoxious processing of produced sludge in Daqing Oilfield, sludge samples are collected from No.10 multi-purpose station of Xingshugang Oilfield, as well as the medical composition of sludge, size composition and surface configuration are tested, based on the indoor testing technology. Meanwhile, the core flow experiment on the sludge plugging effect is conducted. Results show that compared with the commonly used polymer solution, the clay polymer solution faces more resistance when it flows in porous media, because the clay has similar mineral composition with the reservoir rock, its particles are irregular in shape and can be easily trapped when it flows in porous media. Therefore, it has good plugging effect. The clay polymer solution proposed by the indoor experiment is composed of the polymer with concentration ranging from 0.06% to 0.12%, and the clay with concentration less than 6%.
