Drilling technology of Yuanping 1 extended reach well in Daqing

  • Yuanping 1 Well is the longest horizontal displacement exploratory well in drilled horizontal well. In this well in Daqing Oil field, six target spots are arranged in Fuyu oil-layer, the design horizontal section is longer than 3,000 m, and the horizontal-displacement to vertical-depth ratio of designing horizontal and vertical is greater than 2. Through overall consideration of profile type, borehole curvature, target distance, drill string stress and other factors, all trajectories to drillable geological target of Yuanping 1 well is designed in an optimized manner to minimize the friction torque, increase the extended ability, and reduce the dog leg degree. In addition, through the assembling the drilling rig of the extended reach well and well bore structure optimized design, it provides the guarantee for construction safety and successful finish drilling. The third spud-in for horizontal interval of 2,660 m only took 15.79d, and the average rate of penetration is 17.59 m/h. This creates the record of the longest finish drilling horizontal section and safety without incidents of full hole in Daqing Oilfield. This realized target of the well evaluation and analysis of Fuyu oil layer thin interbed reservoir, exploring and increasing the production of low permeability reservoir.
