Advances in well drilling and completion technologies for domestic and overseas

  • The exploration and production of shale gas, as well as tight oil/shale oil, tight gas, deep water and arctic hydrocarbon, is promoting global drilling and completion activity to continuously rebound, which boosts the rapid development of drilling techniques such as horizontal well, factorial construction, and drilling equipment including quick-carrying drilling rigs, deep-water drilling rigs, and polar drilling rigs. Foreign corporations have made substantial progresses on high effective round trip drilling rigs, quick-carrying rigs, cone/PDC complex bits, micro-coring bits, high effective rock-breaking tools, downhole real-time high capacity information transmission, high build-up rate rotary steerable system (buildup section and horizontal section drilled in one run), fold coiled tubes, drilling remote information transmission and real-time optimization, continuous circulation system, managed pressure drilling, high temperature oil base drilling fluids, new type water base drilling fluids, new type sealing technologies, etc. Domestic corporations have made a significant breakthrough in myriameter rig and auxiliary devices, MWD/LWD/EMWD/CGDS, coiled tube technologies and equipments, CPDS managed pressure drilling system, vertical drilling system, temperature and pressure test while drilling and so on, which promotes drilling technologies and equipments to get ahead quickly.
