  • Abstract：Managed Pressure Drilling(MPD) technology puts forward higher requirements on choke performance with the extensive application of MPD .The paper analyzed the research status of the choke used in MPD, and pointed out the problem of conventional choke applied on MPD. It proposed a new type of choke for MPD, analyzed the fluid properties for the new choke. and achieved the flow field and flow rate coefficient. Through comparative analysis, it also pointed out the developing direction of the choke and the broad application prospects of the new choke.
