Application practice of electric submersible pump tractometer

The dynamic analysis and fault diagnosis of ESP well are critical section of ESP wells’ management. The results of conventional working condition analysis with current card, production performance and well history are not accurate. By providing the ESP with a downhole tractometer, real-time recording of unit operation parameters is realized, which provides more and visual information for dynamic analysis and fault diagnose, thus comprehensive and correct analysis of working condition can be performed to find out fault causes and further to tap oil well potential. This paper summarizes the types of ESP fault in a simple way by in-depth analyzing and plotting the ESP tractometer data. Field application shows that the above analysis method is a preferred way and worth popularizing.
