Damage mechanism of glutenite formation in north zone of Dongying depression

  • Glutenite formations are distributed widely in the north zone of Dongying depression with complicated structures, but currently little formation damage mechanism is studied for glutenite formations. The damage factors were deeply researched to deep glutenite formations, from the aspects of porosity-permeability relation, sensitivity, liquid damage and solid damage. The results showed that the deep glutenite formation is with low porosity and low permeability, and the production was not directly related to porosity. And it was weak-middle water sensitive, weak alkali sensitive, and high stress sensitive. There were very strong liquid blocking, relatively severe solid plugging, which would become more serious with drilling pressure difference increasing. Many lost circulations occurred in the block, and the formation damage became more serious with leakage increasing. Reservoir temperature had a great impact on the water sensibility. The study could be a support for the development of drilling and completion liquid for the area.
