Research of the stabilizing agents for hydrophobic associating polymer

  • The main factors which affecting the initial viscosity and the stability of polymer solution were analyzed. The viscosity stabilizing agent Z1 and Z2 was developed to improve the viscosity. Ions of Ca2+, Mg2+ and Fe2+ can be chelated by stabilizing agent Z1. And the radical in the solution can be controled by stabilizing agent Z2. Laboratory results showed that the viscosity retention rate of sheared associative polymer solution was 64.2% after 90d. Field test in SuiZhong 36-1 showed that the associative polymer solution viscosity increased from 24.74 mPa·s to 40.27 mPa·s.
