Drilling technology of LDA3h horizontal branch well

  • Horizontal branch well which usually carried out with 90 degree, can increase drainable area, improve per well production and enhance oil recovery ratio. The LDA3h well was initial designed a horizontal well, but after drilling to the landing point, the landing point was already at the bottom of reservoir. So the following drilling and completion job is very difficult. In view of this situation, the Department of Drilling and Completion optimized the original design, and change to the horizontal branch well, optimized the BHA and the drilling parameter, and improved the completion program. We got a good result after a set of treatment, and set a record of maximum deviation angle of horizontal branch well in Bohai, also refreshed the world record of GP tools. Ultimately, we have maximized the benefits of the reservoir development, and achieved good economic benefits.
