Research and application of casing wear prediction for extended reach well

For casing wear problems, based on White-Dason theoretical model, a calculation model of the thickness of casing wear and residual strength has been established, combined with casing wear, ANSYS finite element software and own calculation program. And the calculation of casing wear prediction process was given. According to the theoretical model, an engineering case is calculated. The results show that the obtained results by this method coincide well with the actual situation. The results of this paper for further improved the design of drilling engineering design of the casing strength and wear evaluation has certain reference value.
