Study on fracture height controlling and diagnose technology in Artala Depression

  • For thin interbed oil-gas reservoirs, the fracture expectation is to hold the artificial fracture in target zone as far as possible, which can increase the effective propped length and heighten the propping results. However, not all the layers can meet the design needs in the practical fracture process. Because of the operating parameter and process technology influencing, the fracture height will increase excessively. Therefore, design parameter and process technology should be optimized to enhance the stimulation results. A low-damage, highly-efficient fracture height controlling and diagnose technology was developed to control fracture height in single layer and improve fracturing level in multilayer. Field application showed that the average yields in exploration wells increased as much as 4-10 m3/d. Good results were achieved that the exploration and well test success ratio rise to more than 85%.
