Influencing factors and countermeasures for complex gas drilling incidents in deep formations of Daqing Oilfield

Abstract
Gas drilling could increase ROP substantially, which is conducive to exploration and discovery. However, a number of complex situations and incidents emerged during the process of gas drilling. As a result, there is little effect in shortening drilling cycle, and gas drilling is not yet fully effective. Geological and engineering factors that influence the quality of gas drilling in deep formations of Daqing Oilfield are analyzed. The methods for predicting formation water output while gas drilling and the discriminant value for borehole stability are established. Ground monitoring system is developed. Relevant technical measures are improved. Practical application in the field has achieved good results. It is of great significance to design of gas drilling and application of gas drilling techniques in Daqing Oilfield.
