Development of new barrel drainage hanger without pipe

  • Drainage without pipe is a new technology applicable for drainage of coalbed methane wells, shallow oil (gas) wells, light oil wells, and oil wells without wax. Mechanical setting is now adopted by the barrel drainage hanger without pipe, and setting should only be located at casing collar clearance. As a result setting of the packer may get unreliable and even failed. So a new hangering method is needed to resolve the insufficiency of setting performance and quality. The newly developed barrel drainage hanger without pipe is driven by hydraulic pressure, and is set in the casing inner wall. Then the set area is enlarged, and the packer has such features as simple operation, reliable performance, and high successs rate. Through testing in the lab (test wells) for more than ten times, the success rate of setting reaches 100% and the packer is proved to have reliable performance.
