Mechanical analysis software of workover pipe strings and its application

  • As more and more oilfields are entering into mid and late development stage, oilfield companies and their subsidiaries are sparing no efforts to develop workover software. Due to the complexity and diversity of workover wells, all workover process has not been analyzed in China so far. Considering the safety of running string and operating tool, mechanics analysis is critical. Therefore, this paper tends to complete mechanical analysis software of workover pipe strings by adopting the object-oriented idea. Through inputing basic well path parameters, string structure, and operational parameters, 3D description of well track could be fulfilled. Tension-torque physical models are used to output tension, torque, side pressure, safety factors and stability and other mechnics parameters of each point of pipe strings during operating process. The tool base could provide performance, usage conditions and norms for all kinds of workover tools. The calculating results mentioned above have high accuracy and credibility, so this software has a strong guide for field operation.
