Application of horizontal wells openhole gravel pack sand-control completion technology

  • The horizontal well completion technology is an important means to achieve less wells and high-production, and to enhance offshore oilfield development benefit. The horizontal screen sand controlling is the main technique in Shengli offshore oilfield, and severe sand production after using high duty pump. Research and analysis was made that, poor screen sand ability and mud cake uncleared by acid cleaning were keys leading to feed flow heterogeneously in horizontal wellbore, therefore extensive fluid production in some part of wellbore and sand flow heavily. By optimizing design and researching allied technology, Horizontal wells openhole gravel pack sand-control completion technology was tested successfully at Well CB22G-P2. Basing on openhole gravel packing sand-control completion, acid cleaning, and variable frequence high duty pmp technique, a integrated horizontal high production pumping technology has been developed, as well. Now the incremental production was distinguished that 104 t DFPD, 91.5 t DOPD, 12% water content, by using 6mm nozzle.
