Abstract
Waterflooding development is used for the production of most heavy oil reservoirs in Liaohe Oilfield, most of the reservoirs have been at the stage of high water cut. With the increase of number of weak gel profile control water plugging, the development decreases progressively. To improve the waterflooding development effect and enhance oil recovery in the oilfield, study is conducted on the nitrogen foam profile control technology. Through indoor experiment, the surface tension and half value period of the three types of foaming agents are compared. The effect of slug size, gas-liquid ratio, and slug combinations on the plugging of foam systems is studied. Results show that the oil recovery is enhanced by 9% after implementing foam profile control. Pilot test is conducted in two water injection wells in Haiwaihe Oilfield. Oil production increases remarkably and water decreases considerably.
