Application of MRC technology to Shengli Oilfield

The Maximum Reservoir Contact（MRC）technology is the development trend of oil drilling technology in the 21st century. It has been paid high attention by the oil industry, due to its advantages in oil and gas exploration and development. On the basis of the brief introduction of the concept and current state of the technology and its application to six wells, the technical condition suitable for Shengli Oilfield is proposed, i.e, the principle appropriate for the design of herringbone multilateral wells. Field application of MRC technology to the six wells is discussed in details. The successful application shows that the use of MRC technology may enhance the development and utilization of oil and gas reservoirs, and improve the recovery, provide a new technology for improving the comprehensive development of oil and gas reservoirs in Shengli Oilfield, and accumulate abundant experience for the popularization and application of the technology in the future.
