Experimental research on application of abrasive jet slotting technology toimprove flow field nearby wellbore formation

  • During the mid and later stage of oilfield development,as formation pressure decreases,flow resistance of formation increases and formation permeability decreases.As a result,the well production rate is getting lower and lower and some wells are abandoned.Therefore,research is conducted on the abrasive jet slotting technology in this paper.The abrasive jet cutting technology is applied to cut the strata around the borehole wall underground into deep slit parallel to the well axis,so as to lower the high pressure of the formation around the well.Compression effect is eliminated,which enables the formation nearby the well to recover the original permeability.Lab simulation test and downhole field test show that the abrasive jet slotting technology can be applied to improve the flow field nearby wellbore formation,recover formation permeability,increase well production and injection.Good results have been obtained in field application.
