Application of simplified sand control and well completion technology in Bohai heavy oilfield

  • Sand control and output increment have always been a couple of contradictions in Bohai unconsolidated sandstone heavy oilfield.To solve the problem,a lot of theoretical research and experiment have been conducted in selection of sand control screen,sand control methods,underbalanced perforating technology,and frequency-variation pump activation.Finally the simplified sand control and well completion technology,a new set of economic methods for sand control and well completion to enhance well productivity to the utmost,is developed.The principle of the technology and its application are introduced in this paper.The technology has been successfully applied to nearly 100 wells.It is shown that the technology has been mature and brought great economic benefit for the development of Bohai unconsolidated sandstone heavy oilfield.At present,the technology has become an important method to develop unconsolidated sandstone heavy oilfield.
