Application of the first horizontal well in Aonan Oilfield of Daqing

  • Putaohua reservoir in Aonan region of Daqing features in low permeability, large number of reservoirs, thin reservoir thickness, and small interlayer thickness.Staircase horizontal wells are proposed to effectively and economically develop this kind of reservoir and carry out experimental research on joint development of horizontal and vertical wells.Unproducing reserves are effectively and economically developed based on repeated penetration of reservoirs, augmenting reservoir exposing area, considerably increasing single well oil output, and improving the degree of reserves control. This paper analyzes the characteristic of the reservoirs of Daqing peripheral oilfield, deals with the design and construction of the first staircase horizontal well of Aonan Oilfield-Aonan 242-ping 317,and illustrates some difficulties and countermeasures to construct staircase horizontal wells in thin reservoirs. This well has been successfully drilled, which proves that medium-radius horizontal wells can improve the drilling meeting efficiency of sandstones in thin reservoirs and are suitable for developing Aonan reservoirs. In addition, their application provides technical support for the economic and effective production of low permeability multi-layer reservoirs and lays a solid foundation for the expansion of exploration area and the economic and effective production of the unproducing reserves under complex geological conditions.
