Study on productivity influence factors of a new type of water-jet deep penetrator system

  • A cleaner, larger and deeper perforation hole could be achieved by water-jet deep penetrator system. An accurate evaluation of well productivity could optimize the water-jet penetrating parameters. The productivity influence factors of water-jet penetrating well were analyzed, which included perforating parameters (hole length and hole size) and reservoir physical properties (skin factor, formation thickness, vertical permeability). The study shows that well productivity could be improved by water-jet deep penetrating. Under the same reservoir physical properties, the productivity is proportional to hole length and hole size. While the hole length and hole size are same, the greater the skin factor is, the thinner the formation thickness is and the greater the vertical permeability is, the better the production increase is for water-jet deep penetrator system.
