RESEARCH OF CORE BARREL BLOCKAGE ALARM DEVICE

  • Core barrel blockage usually occurs in the unconsolidated and broken sand formation coring. If this is not detected in time then the core will be worn out easily, and the data will be lost. To ensure successful coring, the monitor unit has been developed which can warn the operator when the device is blocked by core. As a result, the operator can adopt the measure immediately, and take the coring tool away from bottom hole before the core is worn. The construction and work principle of the monitor device and the field test condition are discussed in this study, and the feasibility of the construction of the unit is confirmed by the field tests. Broad application is suggested.
