DOWNHOLE OIL/WATER SEPARATION PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY

  • In oilfield with high water content, the produced water cause a lot of problems such as high disposal cost, pipeline and station corrosion, premature well shutdown due to low economical benefit or no benefit at all, thus the study on downhole oil and water separation is conducted. Hydraulic cyclone separation technology is applied and a double-effect pump of oil pumping and water injecting is used, which pumps out the crude in the upward stroke and injects the water back into the formation in the downward stroke, thus reduces water production and improves the working conditions of the pumping unit. Field test was conducted in well L2-51 of Linpan Oilfield, and it was found that the water content dropped by over 3 percents and fluid production reduced 10~15 t/d. This technology can be used in well group production with high water content, and has wide application prospect in oilfield with high water content.
