Abstract
Acrylamide can react with certain agents to form netted viscoelastic body on-surface. After it is desiccated, crushed and sieved, pregelled particles are made. The particles can swell in water but wouldn’t dissolve in it. For its unique property, pregelled particles suspension is now widely used as in-depth profile modification agent in oilfields with high water-cut. However, there is only one index to evaluate property of the new agent, which is swelling-multiple. Obviously, it isn’t scientific and practical. In the paper, production process and water-shut-off mechanism of the pregelled particles are briefly introduced. A series of quantity indexes and corresponding measurements are established to give an integrated evaluation of its property. Besides, swelling property after sopping-up water, granularity distribution, particle strength and blockage in porous media are also discussed.
