PERFORMANCE EVALUATION INDEXES AND MEASURES OF CROSS-LINKED POLYMER GEL FOR WATER SHUTOFF AND PROFILE CONTROL

  • Cross-linked polymer gel has unique structure and excellent performance, and due to this it has now most often been used in water shutoff and profile control in domestic and overseas oilfields. According to the differences on the polymer, cross-linking agents and addition agents, cross-linked polymer gel can be classified into many kinds. Though all kinds of gel have different structures, cross-linking ways and scopes of application, basic characters and evaluation indexes of them have no large difference. At present, performance evaluation measures of the gel are now more than 10 kinds and most of them are lack of practicability and scientificity. In the paper, systemic evaluation indexes and measures of performance for cross-linked polymer gel are established and polyacrylamide gel is used as benchmark. Quantitative indexes of agent dissolubility, gelation capacity and shutoff capacity in porous media are the emphasis of research.
