WELL TRAJECTORY CONTROL TECHNOLOGY OF A DEEP WELL DRILLED IN CARBONATE SALT-JIANPING-1

  • Well Jianping-1 is the first test horizontal gas well drilled in the carbonate salt formation of Jianghan Oilfield.The general condition of this well was presented,based on the analysis to such problems as thin target zone,uncertain geological condition,high friction and torque,and difficulties for trajectory control.During hole trajectory control,due to the difficulties of horizontal sliding drilling,BHA types were modified to obtain the aim of geological steering.Specifically,a set of BHA composed of a high efficient bit,a single bent screw motor,MWD system,and under-gauge stabilizers was used to improve penetration rate;while it also focused on landing control and horizontal control.These experience is beneficial for drilling the deep horizontal gas wells in the carbonate salt bed.
