MODIFICATION OF CABLE ENTRY APPARATUS

  • Difficult cable tripping at the entry is a common problem encountered in wired LWD operation.By modifying the cable gland at the entry,the conventional pre-packed sealing assembly was modified into a hydraulic removable sealing assembly,which enables the cable to trip through the open entry apparatus rapidly,and eliminates the troubles of winding and piling up of broken wireline on the cable.The modified cable entry apparatus prolongs the life of logging cable,and improves the reliability and safety of LWD operation.
