SLIM HOLE CORING TECHNOLOGY IN THE HIGH DEVIATED DIRECTIONAL WELL TZ5X-1

  • Well TZ5X-1 is a high deviated well in Tarim Oilfield, with a max. hole inclination of 70.5°, a small hole diameter of 152.4mm.Coring in such a deviated slim hole is the first time in Tarim, and because the coring formation is located in the limestone and dolomite of the Ordovician system, the formation is friable and has poor drillability. Model LC-152 coring tool is selected for the coring job in this well, and as compared with the conventional model of 250P, it has the unique inner outer mandrel centralizing function, and the average coring recovery rate reaches to 94.9%.
