PRACTICAL MODEL FOR CALCULATING THE ADDITIONAL LOAD ON CASING BY HIGH TEMPERATURE

  • A mathematical model for calculating the additional load on casing because of temperature changing during testing and production operation in HPHT well is established. This model takes such factors as temperature effect, inflation, buckling, thermal expansion effect of fluid, and volume compression, etc, into consideration. It can be used to calculate the changing confined pressure and axial force of the suspending casing section, due to temperature variations. Basing on this model, it is easy to edit computer programs to calculate the casing load in any casing program, and analyze the casing failure conditions.
