EFFECTIVE MEASURES FOR IMPROVING THE PENETRATION RATE OF DEEP WELL

  • The rotary percussion drilling technology has been widely used in oil and gas well drilling. The rock cutting characteristics in percussion drilling are described and its influence on bit life, together with the working principle of the rotary percussion drilling system is also investigated. By laboratory study, the rotary percussion drilling parameters are determined and six field tests are conducted. Tests show that the use of this technology in deep well drilling can improve the penetration rate by 20%-160%, and this technology is very effective for the fast drilling of deep wells.
