METHOD OF QUANTITATIVE FLUORESCENCE EVALUATION ON DRILLING FLUID ADDITIVES

The necessity of establishing a quantitative fluorescence evaluation method of drilling fluid additives is analyzed, and the fluorescence emission mechanism is also described. The fluorescence evaluation methods are inquired into in such three aspects as solvents, methods of drilling fluid additive treatment and fluorescence measurement. Meanwhile, a new method of fluorescence evaluation on drilling fluid additives is proposed and some drilling fluid additives used in two wells in Tarim Basin are evaluated with both the old and the new methods. The results show that the new method is suitable for field situation of cuttings fluorologging. The quantitative fluorescence evaluation on drilling fluid additives, as well as the extent of affection of drilling fluid additives on fluorologging can be determined by this new method.
