A DIRECTIONAL WELL TRAJECTORY DESIGN METHOD

  • Azimuth drifting is inevitable in field drilling, and it’s a major factor influencing the effective and successful drilling. In directional well trajectory design, applying the regular pattern of azimuth drifting is an important and effective way of trajectory control. This paper studies the trajectory design in rectangular drifting, concurrent drifting and incongruous drifting situations. Specific calculating models and examples are given and its reliability is evaluated using case history. This method is beneficial for field drilling.
