STUDY ON A LIGHT CEMENT SLURRY SYSTEM AND ITS APPLICATION IN GAS MIGRATION AREA

  • Low formation pressure gradients and active gas migration exist in southern Songliao Basin of Northeast China, slurry loss and annular gas channeling frequently take place during cementing. A new cement slurry system LDAM is developed and applied in this area. The main additive is polymer latex with lightweight material being hollowed microsphere, it is compatible with API Class A cement. The new system exhibits advantages as low fluid loss, short transition time, good rheological properties and adjustable densities, etc. Field uses have been successful.
