  • Well Gaoke-1 and Well Wuke-1,with designed depths of 5400m and 5900m respectively,are CNPC’s two scientific investigation wells in Sichuan Province.Some large size bits of 444.5mm were imported from Reed,Hughes and Smith companies respectively to increase the drilling speed of the 444.5mm interval and shorten the drilling cycle.25 imported bits(6 Reed’s EMS roller bits,5 Hughes’ MAX roller bits and 14 Smith’s 15M,20M and 4JCS roller bits) and 15 home-made bits were used in the ?444.5mm interval of these two wells.In comparison with the home-made ?444.5mm bits,the imported bits are better in the technical indexe of penetration rate,net drilling time and bit cost.
