ANALYSIS TO AXIAL FORCE NEEDED FOR CONDUCTING IN-CASING HYDRAULIC PATCHING

  • During hydraulic patching of corrugated pipe in casing, the axial force for uplifting the expansion joint is very significant. On the basis of analyzing the force exerted on corrugated pipe, by means of the deforming finite element method, this paper conducts calculation by use of actual data. The calculated results indicate:when the outer diameter of the corrugated pipe is 104mm, the inner diameter is 70mm, and the wall thickness is 3.17mm, the axial force needed for casing patching does not exceed 40kN in terms of the conventional low carbon steel; the pyramidal degree of the rigid expansion Joint of the hydraulic patching should be 25-35°; the wall thickness, the outer diameter and the ripples of the corrugated pipe have greater influence on the needed axial force.
