  • This paper introduces a method for friction reduction by vibration. A nipple Is used with mechanism of friction reduction by pulse vibration created by mud Jetting. This method provides an efficient approach to apply weight on bit, overcome drag, Increase penetration rate in directional drilling and horizontal drilling and reduce drilling cost. During horizontal drilling, the nipple can increase penetration rate by 59%, e.g. 24% increasing in well No. 59 drilling.
