CORRELATION BETWEEN LOGGING DATA AND ROCK MECHANI- CAL PARAMETERS AND ITS APPLICATION IN CALCULATION OF SIDEWALL MECHANICAL STABILITY

  • Using logging data from 5 wells in Toutai and Maoxing areas in Daqing and laboratory data obtained from 14 cores, the correlation of static and dynamic elastic parameters under corresponding confining pressures in various lithologies in these areas was found. Based on line elastic theory and rock break machenism, the sidewall stability condition was established. Three critical pressure profiles for sidewall breaking and sloughing were defined. Considering pore pressure, safety profiles of drilling fluid density in Toutai and Maoxing were further defined.
