NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF ROD PUMPING SYSTEM FOR DIRECTIONAL WELL

  • Based on Doty mathematical model, this paper analyzes the forces exerted on rod string and liquld co1umn in directional well, presents a mathematical model for describing the rod pumping system for directional well; the solution of the model is satisfactory, so the problem of numerical simulation of rod pumping system for directional well is solved. This paper also shows the difference between the mathematical model of directional well and that of vertical well. The simulation results show that the surface dynamometer card and the pump dynamometer card of the directional well are largely different from that of the vertical well, therefore, the mathematical model suitable for directional well must be adopted when designing directional well.
