A KIND OF DESIGN PROPOSAL FOR ROTARY STEERING TOOL AND FULFILLMENT OF ITS ROTARY STEERING FUNCTION

Steering tools are essential part of steering drilling system and one of key factors for fulfilling downhole closed-loop drilling. The rotary steering tool can overcome many disadvantages of sliding steering tool. It is the useful tool which can improve drilling capacity greatly and will become the main tool of future steering drilling. This paper presented a design proposal of rotary steering tool and studied its mechanism in detail. The results showed that the proposal can not only control the direction and value of rotary steering force effectively, but it has a simple structure and high reliability.
