  • The catenary shape profile can greatly reduce the resistance of penetration.Therefore it has a prominent importance in long-displacement directional well. This paper is a improvement of the author’s precedent design method of catenary shape profile. The advantages of the new method are deduction of the hyperbolic symbols in all design calculation equations and great simplifying calculations. Calculation examples were also presented.
