  • After an analysis of the disadvantages of the three types of casing heads-the annular plate, the simple and the normal casing heads, the ST lock tightened casing head was innovated by Huabei Oilfield. It is composed of a base flange, an assembly of suspension head and a prevention cap. It is simple structurally, easily manipulated and with reasonable price. Its applications in more than 400 wells demonstrated that it can match the requirements of drilling and completion operations, enhance standardization level on well head assembling, shorten well drilling period, reduce labor intensity, elevate operation efficiency and provide better social-economical benefits. Its structure, working mechanism, assembling procedure and rig-site applications were described.
