  • With the development of petroleum industry,the study on rock are more and more important.The rock mechanics problems existing in wellbore stability,sand production prediction,land subsidence and fracture extension have been studied for about 20 years in China.Based on many experiments,this paper discusses the effect of rock modulus of elasticity on fracture shape and operating pressure,presents the testing method of Biot coefficient,and introduces its applications in calculation of horizontal stress.
