Study on the application of verification and validation technology in the construction of intelligent oil fields

  • Verification and validation (V&V) technology is a key move to guarantee the quality of software systems. In the construction of intelligent oilfield, the quality of software system is of great concern because it guarantees the efficient work of the oilfield. The maintenance cost of traditional software system development accounts for 50% to 70% of the entire software development cycle. V&V aims to correct errors in the demand phase of software system development for smart oilfield construction to achieve exponential reduction of error correction costs in maintenance costs and guarantee stable oilfield production. Based on this, this paper proposes for the first time a method to apply V&V technology to the construction of intelligent oilfield, which provides new ideas for international and domestic guidance specifications for the development of intelligent oil field software systems. This paper focuses on V&V closely related to the work of business departments and intelligent departments and intelligent applications such as oil and water wells covered by smart oilfield construction, proposes documentation requirements for the design, testing and V&V process in smart oilfield construction, and furthermore develops a V&V workflow so that the process is continuously verified and solidified when the actual project is carried out. The proposed V&V also reveals the potential risk factors in the intelligent oilfield software development cycle activities and promotes the process implementation, risk control and assistance to the design team to improve the design methodology and enhance the quality of the software system. The method of verification and validation technology for intelligent oilfield construction has far-reaching reference and guidance significance for the development of intelligent oilfield production.
