Key technologies for optimal and fast drilling in thick-layered glutenite reservoirs

  • The JH2X fault block in Linhe depression is suitable to be developed with large-scale cluster wells. According to the characteristics, such as low maturity, low permeability, low strength and high clay content, of the formation, the technical researches on certain aspects were performed, including the platform design for large well cluster, the speed increase for one-trip drilling, the high-efficiency fluid for protecting reservoir, and the weak interface enhancement for cementing. The supporting technologies on optimal and fast drilling in thick-layered glutenite reservoirs in JH2X fault block were formed, which is centered on the techniques such as the wellhead position optimization for large well cluster, the optimization of high-efficiency PDC bit, the two-hydrophobic film-forming reservoir protective agent, and the low-temperature toughness anti-channeling cement slurry. The field application results show that, when drilling, oil testing and production go simultaneously, the production efficiency was increased by 40%; 19 wells have been drilled and completed in one trip during the second section, with average drilling cycle shortened by 16.27%; the daily production of a single well was increased by 30%-36%; and the cementing perfection rate of the second interface was 77.2%, with an increase of 10 percentage points. These technologies meet the needs of optimal and fast drilling in the JH2X fault block, providing technical supports for subsequent drilling in this block and providing references for the development of other similar areas in China.
