Fine evaluation on the effectiveness of glutenite reservoirs based on diverse data

  • In recent years, great discoveries have been realized frequently in middle-deep glutenite reservoirs in Bohai Oilfield, which reveals the promising exploration prospect of glutenite reservoirs in the Bohai Bay Basin.However, this type of reservoirs is generally characterized by diverse pore structures, complex reservoir space and strong heterogeneity, so the understandings based on conventional or single logging data are often quite different from the test results.In this paper, based on the data of conventional logging, array sonic logging, nuclear magnetic logging, wall core logging and so on, the characteristics of glutenite reservoirs (e.g.rock brittleness and pore structure) were analyzed comprehensively, and the effectiveness of Kongdian Formation glutenite in a certain block of Bohai Oilfield was evaluated.It is indicated that the effectiveness of glutenite reservoir is more affected by its rock brittleness index and pore structure.In conclusion, this effectiveness evaluation method does well in the tests.
